Bolivia - the sky is big in bolivia..

THe flight from salvadore was fucked..we were so scattered and tired we fell asleep in the airport terminal..our seats didnt recline on the plane so we couldnt sleep, then we had a 4 hour stop over, then the seats on the next flight didnt recline either!!! it was so ridiculously unlucky it was funny..

We only slept, ate and organised in santa cruz..i dont think it would have been physically possible to do anything else..we had a hotel so we didnt really have to leave accept to eat and book bus tickets..the terminal there is insane..people going everywhere, yelling at you grabbing you..its awesome..we booked a bus to uyuni (the guy told us it was one stop to eat and it would take 20 hours)..it was 3 separate buses, with 3 hour waits inbetween and it took oner 30 hours to go 800km haha..GOT YA..we quickly realised that he had fooled all the grringos and we were all in the same boat..the roads are so so nad in bolivia its hard to comprehend..not only are they not tar they´re corrigated, flooded, ditches, cliffs..its insane..if not for valium it would have bee a sleepless nightmare..

2 english girls we met in flory also joined us for the trip to uyuni and the salt flats..we go in pretty late and stayed in a nice little hostel..the next day we messed around booking tickets, toursm eating a shiling and relaxing..we went to an awesome pizza restauraunt (never been able to spell the word) for dinner and just chilled..its a barren little town of 20000, the gateway to the flats and desert..its dusty, chilly and (at times) like a ghiost town..

Fo the salt flat tour we had a 4wd convoy (us and the girls in our convoy)and 3 others..the slat flats were incredible..so surreal that its hard to appreciate..we took the stupid must take pics and chilled..we drove out into the desert to our little hostel and had a big family dinner and retired early..evertime you think there couldnt possibly be another little town one pops up..i have no idea how they survive out there..no crops, live stock nothing..accept lamas.. THere was no shower so we used th basinn..had a game of soccer with one of the local kids, drunk a bottle of tequila, ahd some coco leaves amd passed out..

The second and 3rd day we cruised the desert, went swiming in hot springs, smoked weed with isrealies, saw volcaneos, snow capped mountains, played cards and drubk wine in the dark..

one highlight was that the breaks on our 4wd failed as we were approaching the hotel and we ran straight though the wall hahaha..it was classsic..

all in all it was alot of driving, around what looked like the moon but it was nice to "rough¨ it for a while..

off to la paz to lose our shit, go to the jungle, death road and again, go wild..yew
