Another milestone of sorts today: I dropped off Lucy at Scott's pad today. Scott's other 2 dogs, and Scott, will be Lucy's family for the next 3 months. Lucy has been going to work with me at Scott's for the past few months so she is familiar with the scene.
But it was a sad and difficult thing to say 'mali' to her this afternoon. It also drives home yet again just what I'm about to do. The nerves are setting in.
Just got this email from Scott...thought I'd share it:
Funny moment today when I got home: all the dogs greeted
me at the door and were frantic to see me.
Dogs are all following me around wanting attention, but I decide
the first thing I'm going to do is put insulation behind the plywood
panels in the workshop. Pick-up my Makita impact driver and
give the trigger a quick blip to make sure the battery is charged.
Lucy, who seems to be looking at the tool, gives an excited/hopeful
bark then looks up, realizes it's me, gives me a disgusted "You're
not my Daddy" look and walks away!
Too funny!

gulp.
