My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Having been married for 25 years and with adult children, it’s time I changed careers to embark on new journeys. I aim to be the best I can in whatever path I take, and being able to capture a moment in time through photography is a pastime I enjoy greatly. Cameras have interested me for a long time and I always want to learn more.
Working in a highly multicultural school, I meet parents from overseas, giving me an insight into their cultures. One girl from Oman’s father invited me to his graduation ceremony. Meeting these beautiful people, I learnt much about their culture and traditions, I was moved.
Having a camera in my hands is the most relaxing and rewarding thing to me. I love opportunities to increase my knowledge in photography techniques and I hope to one day give underprivileged young adults the opportunity to explore photography and perhaps show them a different life path. This would be my way of saying thank you to those who’ve helped me develop my photography to the level it is today. I love photography as you never stop learning, new technology is always developing and someone will have a different way of looking at a shot which inspires you to try something new.
