It's already tomorrow in Australia... Carry On Backpacking

Broome with a view

AUSTRALIA | Saturday, 8 December 2007 | Views [598] | Comments [3]

After two nights spent in Karratha we went on to Broome, the largest town in northern Western Australia. Everyone kept telling me it's not hot but it bloody well felt it to me. I was sweating so much I thought I was back in Asia. The only place to be in the middle of the day was the (unheated) pool and even that felt like being in a bath. The town was nice and the beach one of the best I've seen in Australia, but the thing I'll remember about Broome is the people. The friendlest, most helpful folk anywhere we've been. I'm very sad to be leaving WA. I only hope I can get back at some point.
Yesterday we arrived in Melbourne and it's feeling chilly at 20C. Will likely take me a few days to adjust...

Chilly in the 20's. Sigh. We were in the 20's too - except in Fahrenheit. Had freezing rain, which in case you don't know anything about turns one's driveway and side walk into a skating rink. Literally.

Sue, I think I'm allowed to hate her more then you. ;-)
