An Amazing Night!!

USA | Friday, 29 February 2008 | Views [850]

Yesterday night was absolutely one of the most amazing nights of my stay here in the USA so far!

At 7.00 pm I was standing in the icehockey arena in Kearney over-excited for what was gonna happen. The reason for this is that the Newsboys were about to perform. For those people that don't know who they are: the Newsboys are a christian poprock band. I've been a big fan of them for quite a while now. So when I heared they were comming to Kearney I didn't have to think twice: I was going to that concert!!

The first hour of the concert was filled by three other bands to warm up the crowd. Two of them were really great to my opinion. The third one was ok, but a bit too much country for my liking.

And then, at around 8.00 pm, the Newsboys took over the stage. And let me say this: AMAZING!!!!! They started with some of there louder rock songs, then moved to some more easy going ones. At a certain point the singer of the band took some time to talk about his faith and to pray. The rest of the concert was filled with a lot of amazing music and the bandmembers joking around on stage. I wish I could express on paper how amazing this concert was, but all I can say is 'you should have been there'.

Around 10.30 pm the concert ended and before we went back to the university we of course had to get some t-shirts.

When we got back to the campus we quickly changed and got ready for the Fiji Island party. The Fiji's are a new fraternity on the UNK campus. To introduce themselves they organised a dance at one of the residence halls. And so we danced the night away!

After the dance we went into the city to get some donuts. By the time I got to bed it was 2.15 am. Getting up the next morning (at 7.00 am) was quite a struggle, but it was definitely worth it!

I'll upload the pictures we took at the concert as soon as my roommate found the cable for her camera ;p.
