Okay well in theory I now have a dog... I was not expecting a dog and yes I needed a dog for security. But after not buying a dog from one neighbour it was a crazy price close to $800 AUS she has told others in the neighbourhood how I can't afford the dog. They came up with a solution though.....
Another neighbour another foreigner has left her dog behind and moved to argentina so they have contacted her and her neighbour who is watching the house and dog and arranged for the dog to be given to me as a gift.
Now how can I say no!!!! So minutes after getting home to my newly rented home I am dragged up the street to meet the dog. THen after meeting him for two minutes I am thinking I am not sure aout this he is bigger than I wanted really and has a tendency to snap his jaw at me.... hmmm but how ot say no or I need time.... also this dog is left behind and will end up another stray on my street but without the skills of the others in the pack he'll never make it. So my saviour complex kicked in and I thought okay. We tried to get him to come with us.... but he was not leaving the house.
So I have a dog.... in theory.
So my neighbour was to bring him later. She got him to within three houses before he decided to return to his house.... at least he is loyal.
Then she was to bring him later when her son could help...
I have not yet got this dog. So the meat I defrosted is still waiting.... will eat it tonight myself if dog doesn't appear.
I will go and find the neighbour tonight as I leave on Saturday it would be good if dog had time to get used to me. THe dog is older than I would have got myself and I am not sure how he will take to the move.
My dog- white mixed breed, adult, male, above medium size but not too huge. He was left with no food alone in the house so he needs to move but has not adjusted to this fact. trust me to find a dog that has issues.
He also speaks Italian---- now I need to learn Italian to speak to him was told!!!! UGHGHHG So on top of Spanish I now need to know words in Italian for Good Dog, come, sit etc.
Anyway we will see if maybe adjust to the dog and he eventually moves to my house.
Meanwhile I have guard cats. They are now there everyday.
The first time they visited I thought they were theives on the tin roof and they kept me up. the second night they destroyed my garbage and kept me up.
Now they are through exploring and seem content to sit lookout on the wall at night without fear of dogs.... I think I am the only neighbour without a dog.... well in my yard..... as apparently in theory I do have a dog now!!!
Hope all is well in your worlds.
