Galicia - out of Galicia - back to Galicia!

Galicia

The plan for today was to relocate south and head for Extremadura. Set off on a 5 hour journey but with every mile it got hotter and hotter. Stopped for lunch and it was boiling. Started to reassess our plan. Checked temperatures for destination and it was 40C for the whole week. Too hot for walking and unbearable in the beast with no air con. Decided to change the plan and stay in the north! We picked a location further north to stop for the night but again mega hot, we decided best option was to head for the coast. First place we went to couldn't locate the stopover so drove another 40 minutes to the next stopover at Bueu. Fortunately it was in a stunning spot overlooking the sea, walks from the door and a couple of beaches. Phew! But most importantly it had a cooling sea breeze. Pitched up for the night. After 8 hours drive and a tank of petrol we are about 20 miles away from where we started this morning!!! not the best day. And as if things couldn't get any worse we ran out of data on our Spanish sim. We had been in a number of vodafone shops to try and figure out how to top up but nobody speaks English and we only know the Spanish words necessary to translate a menu!!! So no internet for a while, really must learn some Spanish (internet fully restored now, hence the blog update!)

Bueu, Galicia

After our epic drive yesterday we decided to stay put in Bueu over looking the sea and next to lovely beaches. Spent 2 days walking along the coast, chilling on the beach and looking out to sea.

Boira, Galicia

Left Bueu and drove to Pontevedra for a walk around this historic city. Really pretty city got a great English walking guide map as well. Even managed to top-up our Spanish sim with data, yeah internet restored. Left after lunch and drove to Boira to a fantastic stopover right on the beach.

Hola, Hope the deserving passenger got a beer on the beach as well. I'm sure you got blamed after the gas debacle. Mark might have been working out on that photo but can you tell me how he put on 4 feet in height because I want details of the work out plan. Dad XXX

Hola again, Went to your house yesterday & the birds are having a feast on your fruit, although most was on the floor, except the blackberries, which haven't quite ripened (they might still be there to greet you) I think the angel at your gate may have been put by bungalow side because other side neighbours didn't bother with their own gardens. Adiós Dad XXX

Hola Dada, I think it is all the tapas that has made Mark grow taller! I definitely did not get the blame for the gas debacle, Mark is head of utilities!! Thanks for the update on home. Love Dawn xx

Hola again, I forgot to say on Sat walking up to Altham school we saw a camper van parked in cottage yard. On the back was sticker saying "were on adventure before dementia". Who copied who? (not that it matters because it is a brilliant thought) Dad XXX
