We traveled from Chile to Argentina through the Andes. The mountains were unlike anything we have ever seen. Very rugged and sharp with little vegetation. This stretch of road behind us is called 30 Curvas. It speaks for itself.

The lunch included bread, starter, entree, then dessert followed by espresso. So much food I didn't need to eat till the next day. Chile is famous for their fish so shrimp for starters then salmon cooked over a open fire. I call this the South American Jagger Bomb. Alcohol followed by a shot of caffeine.

Laguna del Inca was located at the very top of 30 Curvas along with ski resort Portillo famous for holding it's first downhill international ski competition in 1966. Lots of ski memorabilia in the lodge including photos of the US and Canadian ski teams from back in the day. One of the chair lifts actually went overt-top of 30 Curvas!
