Yes. Roy. He’s an American man with a ‘friendly, engaging, warm and lively tone that is easy to understand’. He left out ‘sounds like Shaft wondering if he could buy me a whiskey in a basement bar somewhere in Indianapolis after midnight’. Oh Roy. I’ve gone full Joaquin Phoenix in ‘Her’. I can sense I’m going to take you camping. Just us. And the tent. And about eight portable power banks so we can talk all night.
Anyhoozie, back to why I’m ‘posting’.
1. Just to say ‘hi’. I recently checked to see if all my journal entries were still here and found that, yes, they sure are, and that over 1000 people have read some of them. That was really surprising and also damn nice to see. So, yeh. Hi … and thank you! ...

2. … my dear friend Jennifer (hi sexy pants) recently alerted me to a thing called Substack and I’ve decided to serialise a small work of fiction there called “Goggles Does … The Case of the Lost Coins”. Bit of a riff on the ol’ Boys Own Adventures capers and what-not. I’ll be inserting some sort of linky-poo here somewhereabouts so hopefully you can click that and have a read if you’re not chatting with your real or unreal Roy. Roy. Sigh.
As it’s based on a story from the 1950s there’s some gags in there that are post-modern. You might say non-politically-non-ambiguous. If you’re read these journals we’re probably okay. You get irony. Phewski.
