Day 6 (26/12): Trinidad

CUBA | Wednesday, 28 December 2016 | Views [322]

  • Took antique train to the Valley of the Sugar Mills. Entire trip (mostly the train ride) is from 10 am to 2:30 pm.
  • The Valley of the Sugar Mills is a series of three interconnected valleys (~ 12 km) outside of Trinidad, and were a centre for sugar production from the late 18th century to 19th century. It is now a UNESCO site, and most of the sugar mills are in ruins.
  • Back to Trinidad. Had a quick lunch (sandwich) at a local joint by Parque Cespedes.
  • Took a taxi to Playa Ancon. We left at around 4, and back at 6. Clear water, but LOTS of mosquitos towards sunset when we left.
  • Finally tried the dinner at Restaurant El Dorado with less ppl (Had Grilled Lobster and Lobster cooked in bread set meal - Total Disappointment!)
  • Total 2 Wifi spots at the city (the two parks)
  • Stayed at the same Hostel Ramon n Marbelis: 25 CUC
