We've been on the move since Christmas and it all finally caught up with us. James was sick for a few days in Ho Chi Minh and once he got better, I got sick in Dalat. We're fine now, but it made for a pretty scratchy, grouchy, tired kind of week.
It was interesting dealing with all the differences when we were sick - it made me realise what we've been coping with every day. When you just want to be cuddled up at home with some gastrolyte, stewed apples, a normal toilet and a good book in english but the closest you can get is a hot bus, steamed rice, sprite and smelly squat toilets every few hours, you sure appreciate what you normally have!!!
I think we both did a pretty good job of looking after each other and finding the least dubious foods (we ate a lot of steamed rice, noodle soup and bananas).
This trip has been completely wicked - amazing places, hard work, memorable people, extremely sweaty and mentally challenging. After almost 4 months though, we're both looking forward to settling down in a more familiar environment for a bit.
