The BIG Trip

London-town and Peter Pan

UNITED KINGDOM | Sunday, 27 November 2011 | Views [422]

Back in London again…our second day here though we arrived in the UK weeks ago now!

The bus got in on time around 0700 and we walked to Victoria Station with a Pakistani guy called Ahmed that we met on our way out of the bus station. Worked out where and how to catch the train to Rawiri & Laura – yay!

Train to King’s Cross then transfer to Knebworth train. Rawiri met us at the station decked out in Canterbury of NZ gear. SO good to see him – it had been almost 5 years since they left NZ and we have missed them!

After chatting for a while Roni and Laura prepared a hot brekkie before Rawiri had to go to his pantomime. He was in a local production of Peter Pan and had three shows in one day. After he left Laura took us on a walking tour of Codicote – past her old primary school and many local landmarks before we finished at the Garden Centre admiring their Christmas displays and having a hot cuppa in the outside area of their café (with a robin hopping around to keep us company).

Off home after that to relax with their two awesome dogs – Milo a black lab and Gypsy the Alsatian -  and Laura before getting ready to attend the panto. We tidied ourselves up then met some of their UK mates in the pub for a drink before wandering around the road to see the final show. It was a great laugh and Rawiri’s dancing and singing was a hit with all involved! Some good times and we really appreciated the chance to see Rawiri in a show again after a really long absence.

After the show we drove back to Codicote via the mini-mart to grab some dinner supplies. The cast break up/after show event was taking place at The Goat pub across the road so we joined them there for a chat and some bevvies before walking home to make pizza and garlic bread for dinner. Rawiri and Bray stayed up chatting into the night but Roni wasn’t up for it after no sleep on the bus last night.
