A slow start
to the day, and made even slower with Bray sleeping in till 11am. Roni made use
of her morning by learning more about Maren as she had a later start to her working
day today. The view from the flat also let Roni watch many rabbits and red squirrels scampering around until Bray awoke.
Once Bray
rose from his slumber, got clean and fed, we planned to take a stroll around
the lake. Plans changed once the heavens opened, still we chose to get out and about
to check our surroundings and find a supermarket for bits and pieces for lunch
and snacks.
We discovered
a MEGA shopping plaza in which they LOVE shoes. So many stores! You couldn’t go
20 paces without running into or seeing a shoe store. We managed to make it out
with lunch, some sweet treats and a book in English for Roni (1000 years of Annoying
the French by Stephen Clarke...bought as it was fat so seemed best value for
our Euro).
Home for
lunch then back out to look at a nearby church and walk along the river. With
the wind picking up and both of us poorly dressed we returned home to lax it out
till our hosts returned from work. Simon returned with ingredients for Thai
Green Curry. A team effort was made and all enjoyed while we sampled some local
and Bavarian beer.
Memories
remembered and shared during clean up in the kitchen. Then plans for the next
day and the weekend departure for our road trip shared and discussed before all
retired to bed close to midnight.
