Woke up
relatively early and had breakfast with our supplies from the supermarket.
Packed up our gear then went on a mish to find a cooler bag, RCA cables and
cooking gas before check out. On our way down the road we also managed to get
Bray some cheap but funky replacement ‘knock about’ shoes as his white shoes
were killed by the mission to Otres Beach! We had found a few ‘outdoor stores’
online and tried the closest one...which wasn’t all that close and turned out
to be a hammock and outdoor furniture type store instead. Argh! On our way home
we found a cooler bag at a random ‘sells everything’ store and got the cable
from Cash Converters.
Bray picked
up a 6L of water (for under 1 Euro) as Roni scooted home to pack the last
things. We were still hunting gas so followed our GPS to another address we had
found previously...SUCCESS!! Cooking with gas is now a possibility.
Getting out
of Barcelona we headed up the coast – some great views! Our destination was
Figueres and we made it by around 2pm. We were there to see the Dali Theatre
Museum and randomly chose a road
that led straight past it – yay! Found a free parking space near the dog
walking park and had lunch before going to see, touch and photograph it
ourselves. Much excitement J
The
thunderclouds were gathering and light getting a bit dim on it so we decided to
spend the night close by instead of heading to La Jonquera as we had first
planned. Drove around in circles for a while before parking again and walking
to find the info site, they gave us a map and list of campgrounds. We drove out
of the city with one in mind but not 100% sure of where exactly on the road it
was... Spotted it and screeched in off the highway. Lovely people and an
adequate site J
Bathrooms, toilets and room for our tent and car.
Cracked out
the local cerveza with our standard meal of salami, cheese and bread J Good times. A hot
coffee was had with an oreo before bed – treats! We stocked up on coffee and a
packet of bikkies in Bangkok as we knew it was WELL cheaper. Happy with that!
