It's after 1AM and we just got in the door - unheard of! We are not letting our nana-ness own us, at least for tonight!
We kept dry and comfy in our wee mushroom house last night - despite quite heavy rain! Nice.
Got up and had breakfast at our place before relaxing out front then checking out around 12 to catch a tuk tuk to town... The road we took was about as lumpy, cratered and muddy as the one we walked! A little more exciting bumping around in the back of a tuk tuk though.
We had a vague address for tonight's accomodation so searched in the tuk tuk until we gave up and got him to drop us. Roni was sure we had walked past it on our big mish but it wasn't looking promising and nobody we asked had any clue :-( HOT sun too but at least we only had little back packs (thanks again Sussex whanau!!)
After fruitless searching we had a 'strategic pause' to rehydrate and use wi-fi at Happy Herb Pizzas to investigate the location of this promised accomodation. Found it!! Was just down the road :-P We headed down there and dumped our bags before calling to secure seats on the bus back to PP tomorrow - with the help of Kim (Khmer wife of Dave the proprieter).
Off to the beach after that - HORDES! Definitely a contrast to Otres beach. We walked from Serendipity Beach along Ochheuteal...interrupting some kind of fashion/film shoot at the same time. Moody male model scuffs along hot beach in hoodie, jeans, shoes and flash gears while equally moody female in black floaty dress with handbag and shoes as accessories mooches along too! Classic to see many small local kids wander in and out of shot carelessly - photo bombers!
Roni went in for a quick dip to cool down but Bray was content just to be a male and have his shirt off!
We had worked up a hunger by then so went back to Happy for lunch - traditional Sihanoukville BBQ was consumed and definitely tasty! Home after that to skype Roni's Mum (finally it worked - we have been trying for weeks but lack of net access etc has thwarted us). Was great to catch up on her news and see her.
Out to wander town after that...started with a cool beverege at our guest house before walking the streets. Ended up at an Australian named place - with live music from a French man and chats with Khmer wait staff! Ate the local dish of beef lok lak with our usual spring rolls. Complimentary bevvies and bread meant we could also splash out on a couple of scoops of ice cream for dessert - yum!
Popped in to Utopia bar after that where Bray couldn't resist their 25c beer! Then to Top Cat Cinema where we got to see "Fast Five". Bray is a happy man :-)
Home now to label a few photos and wind down before bed.
