This is a bit of a combo - Monday and Tuesday in BRIEF...
Monday was a LONG day. Up at 4.30am then to Bangkok Noi/Thon Buri station to catch the train to Kanchanaburi. Saw LOTS of different crops - Gug would've been proud! Sugarcane, tapioca, rice, lotus, pineapple, starfruit, eucalyptus...and the list goes on. Made it safely to our accomodation in Kanchanaburi (Deluxe - definitely seeing how the other 'half' lives!! Felt too dirty to be there!) Spent the HOT (over 32 degrees with 95% humidity) afternoon checking out local tours and decided on a plan for Tuesday.
Tuesday was AMAZING - trip to Erewan National Park and chance to hike up the 7 levels of the waterfall there, have our feet nibbled by fish, swim, visit Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum and walk to the pass itself, ride the Death Railway and wander across the 'Bridge on the River Kwai'. Learnt HEAPS from our awesome guide Nana, loved getting out in nature and we even had butterflies landing on us!
I was disappointed that we didn't see any of the promised monkeys, tarantula or snakes! Bray could live with it though.
