To me, my passion has been travel photography through which I want to convey the "sense of place". Whenever I go to some new places, I explore the place in my own style so one can feel the essence of the place, its culture, bio diversity and people in their normal habitat.
In my photo submissions 2013, I elevate a very unusual location in West Bengal, namely "Gongoni" which is famous for its gorge type pattern below which a shallow water river "Silabati" flows. Photographers who generally used to visit that place, try only to capture the famous collective fishing in river water. But there are other gems in that place which I wanted to explore in my two visits there. The river migration, crossing the gorge, refreshments offered by the shallow water bed can be visualized. These show the daily struggle and lives of the local tribal.
Whenever I reach a place during my photo assignment, first of all I stroll about the place, try to find something unusual but attractive in that place without letting my gear out of my bag. Because I believe myself that If my vision is not clear as to why and what I actually want to shoot, I can not visualize my visions to my viewers.
