...cause his owl is here in the Galapagos. We were chopping down more raspberry vines this morning with machetes (i swear the vines have minds of their own and attack me at every opportunity) and we found an owl sleeping in the hollow of a tree. Super gorgeous. Harry, you CAN'T have him back.
For brekkie today we had pancakes with lemon and sugar....best brekkie so far....then all hiked up to machete raspberry vines - it is such satisfying work...many hate the job, but I feel like a swashbuckling ninja...(left hand, chop, right hand, chop, phoaw!!!) Its hot, sweaty work and by 12pm, my hair was wet with sweat and the bottom of my trousers that tuck into my gumboots were almost 'wring-able' -super sexy - and we all smell amazing at lunch... today was shrimp/teriyaki noddles...top day for food :)
After lunch I helped Nicky, Steve, Becca and Jersey pot tomato seeds...those things are tiny...as I'm so surprised, I'm clearly not a gardener. There were over a million mossies in the compost so was a bit annoying...though had all the protection I needed. Three new volunteers have turned up...feel like an old hand now ;). There is an Aussie guy, another yank and another German. Where are the kiwis I ask you?
Apparently tonight we are going to the bar...woop woop! Pilsner or rum? Rum me thinks...!!
See you on the flip side...hopefully not hung over...that would be a killer here
X
Ps. George and Henry turning into regular room mates...who would have thought I would embrace spiders...
