Hindu Temple in Little India, Singapore

Hindu Temple in Little India, Singapore

We finally made it!  Our first destination is Singapore (Sydney doesn't count, although it was a great weekend, thanks to Amy, Quinn, Ryan, Shai, Charlotte, Shorty and everyone else who helped us to party on our last weekend in Oz!!).  Getting here was fun in itself, on the new Qantas A380...  everything inside was new and flashy, more in-flight entertainment than you can poke a stick at, and ultra quiet throughout the whole flight - highly recommended!  I was sitting in a window seat looking down the length of the wing - the amount of flex in that baby while we were going thru turbulence shortly after take-off had to be seen to be believed.

Today was spent wandering around the sights of Singapore, from Little India to Chinatown, the esplanade and Raffles hotel to shopping malls as far as the eye can see on Orchard Road - it's probably a good thing we don't have much room in our bags to carry anything extra!  For lunch we went to a big hawker centre (food court) and tried some local cuisine... speaking of which my stomach is telling me its nearly dinner time, and we're about to head off to check out the city at nite.

Tomorrow we head to Bangkok for 4 nites where I am looking forward to feasting on some yummy Thai noodles!  That's all for now folks...

Try the Chili crab in Singapore - messy but brilliant. I've just spent a few days in Peru - ate alpaca kebabs - bit like gamey beef
