I am home. Counting down days until I leave for the Galapagos Islands. It has been on my list for quite some time. I am really excited! Though, it now seems to almost have taken a back seat. After planning and paying for this trip, I decided to go and live and work in Peru as a Missionary for Peru Mission. It has been a whirlwind as I try to prepare for that life changing event. And so, it is not surprisingly, that this trip to Galapagos has sort of taken a back seat.
I leave December 26 flying to Lima, Peru. I then fly on the 27th to Quito, Ecuador. I will have 4 or 5 days in the islands before returning to Quito. Then Jan. 1 and 2 to explore Quito and the equator. One of the things I am looking forward to is standing with one foot in each hemisphere! What a blast. From what I read, the monument at the "equator" is not the actual equator, but it is within a few kilometers of the actual equator. I plan on seeing both. And of course all of the wildlife on the islands! giant tortioses to blue footed boobies. I know it will all be spectatulare!
