    I had never really known what a community center did or what its purpose was, but it had the only swings in the area. When I was part of a church group I would try to play basketball with the group of bigger kids my brother was in; I was pushed around a lot and rarely got the ball. There was even a wedding reception here. After the reception I realized I never wanted to get married in poverty and have a place like this be the party room. by: aaleinus Views[284] The south side of the beach is supposed to be for old people, but I find it more relaxing than the cracked out adolescence on the other side. My friends and I from high school would be out here for hours; not sure if I ever fit in with them or if I was just a decent pretender. by: aaleinus Views[293] I’ve only been in a Food Lion once, when I was still friends with Beau, never quite compared to shopping with mom in Winn Dixie. Never amounted to much anyways. by: aaleinus Views[272] There was a prominent tennis club to the left just as you entered the city. It was the city’s hub. Tourists would flock here thirty years ago and enjoy Florida orange juice. My friend David and I went with his parents once; we were six. It was a short play date; David and I don’t speak anymore. by: aaleinus Views[265] On Saturdays I would go with my mother on her pick-ups; she owned and operated a dog grooming business. Every Saturday we would stop here and she would wash her car inside and out. I was really happy on those days. I wore my roller-blades in the car and everywhere she stopped I would get out and skate. I stopped all of that when I was twelve. This was two years after I promised her “I would always be her little boy”. by: aaleinus Views[274]
