Stuck in Swindon.

We headed the next day in the direction of Southampton but just a few k’s down the road Nick said ‘this isn’t right’. The accelarator pedal had broken = no acceleration. Not great in the middle of a roundabout over the M4. We hobbled to the next town but were sent back to Swindon to find a repair garage. Four garages sent us round the houses until we stumbled across one that would do it – in three days time! But the place next door agreed to do it that day and we set off to see the sights of Swindon. There aren’t any. Acutally that’s a little unfair – we did find a place that does mean chips and gravy.

A few hours and 20 quid later (not bad for some emergency welding) we headed one and eventually camped up at a camping ground between Salisbury and Southampton. Our first night’s paid accommodation and first shower in a week! We were the only ones there.
