Flights

UNITED KINGDOM | Monday, 28 May 2007 | Views [462]

After some frantic last minute packing and cleaning we said adieu to Wendy’s Ma and Pa and did a few last jobs in Christchurch. The most fun of these was spending the Kathmandu vouchers we’d both been given by our workmates. We went mad and they kept giving us more discount so we kept going back for more stuff! My main luxury purchase was a silk sleeping bag liner.

The flights through Auckland and Hong Kong went fine – the only notable exception being a Jobsworth at Auckland airport who took Nick’s toothpaste off him because it weighed 110 grams. The maximum liquid volume allowed is 100 ml. Nick argued that 110g of dense toothpaste is less than 100 ml, but this failed to impress.
