We were up just after 6am and getting ready for our bike ride with Monika and Jean-Ann when Kevin decides he wants breakfast. Well in 20 minutes we had a shake and we're off to meet them at their house at 7am. We headed out the other side of town to a fishing and pottery village. It was a good ride that bought us back around to a second hand bric brad store that we stopped at. The ladies decided to buy two pottery pieces for their patio area so we had one in my front basket, one in theirs but then how were we going to get the lids back to HoiAn. Well out comes a big sack, wrapped around the lids. Kevin was intending to carry them when a lady on a motor bike stops and offers a strap for us to tie them on the back of the ladies back carrier. Five people came from nowhere to do this and we are all set to ride back. We stopped in town at a local street food corner for some soup and bread roll. It was yummy. It was then back on the bike to Monika's house. Phuong the owner comes running out and saying Monika has to go sort out his problem. Appears a guest has lost a bicycle at a restaurant on An Hoi last night. He wants Monika to go to the restaurant with the guest and also to tell the guest that a replacement bike is $100. Monika says she will go later but right now she's having coffee with us. After coffee we head back to the Homestay and we have ridden 21km. It has been an enjoyable morning. I then make myself a cuppa tea and update the blog as I couldn't yesterday with no power. Kevin went riding to AnBang, Cua Dai and looking for Hidden Beach where we are to meet Vinh tomorrow. I was getting ready for my lesson with Ms Le when I got a text to say she is too busy and doesn't want any more lessons. I then thought, what will I do. I got on my scooter and went out Cam Thanh, Red Bridge way to see where the road goes. The roadworks now go all the way to where the new big bridge is being build. I had to turn around and double back before I could turn right and go through to Bale Market. I then thought I would have a cold coffee at Dingo Deli and read my kindle so I stopped there. I'm walking in and who should be sitting there but Gary Hagen. I sit down with him and order a coffee. We chat about the English lessons he has just started at his home in Cam Thanh. I also buy 100ml of coconut oil for VND $50k. Gary soon heads off to buy a mop while I stay reading my book. I head back to the Homestay and sat reading outside as the noise from the renovations is getting to me. Dung actually came and apologised for the noise and I chatted with him about his plans for the Homestay. Later I rang Mum and Dad for a chat. I then called Sue Hutchinson to see if she has any gossip to share. Alas, very little. We head off to Vang’s for dinner soon after. Tonight we have spring rolls, pork wrapped in lot leaf and rice. It was very tasty. Duc is working but Tri and his other brother are there with a friend. Kevin again stops at Kem for an icecream on the way home.
