Day 86 18th July 2014 Friday. Rained overnight. Packed and ready to leave at 8.00am. Stopped at the Visitor Centre in Roebourne to look at the Goal Museum. Was very interesting looking at the history of the early settlers and aboriginals. Grabbed a lot of brochures for the next part of our trip. Continued on to Dampier but when we got to the caravan park the girls said she had us booked for Sat, Sun  & Mon which was not right. We were not able to get in for tonight so had to leave. Decided to head for Cleaverville a nature base camp on the beach back past Karratha and before Roebourne. Stopped at the turnoff and decided not to go down the dirt road but to go back to Roeburne and stop there overnight at Harding River Caravan Park. Finally got set up and had a late lunch. Decided to explore Cape Lambert, Point Samson, Wickhan and Cossack. At Cape Lambert we went to Sams Creek which is across from the loading facilities and we could see 12 boats coming, going or being loaded. We then went into Point Samson and this appears to be a really nice coastal town. The Cove Caravan Park looked superb with grass, concrete and no red dirt in sight. From here we went to  Wickam and looked at the Haulpak Train attractions which included a big Truck and a train. Had a look at the sporting facilities that Rio Tinto have built in the town. The town was established in 1970 as a special purpose built for the mine workers. We went past the Cossack turnoff before we realised it so headed back for some rest and relaxation. We have back tracked 70km from Dampier and are a little annoyed at the events. Cooked a butterfly beef on weber for tea. No cards tonight.
