VIETNAM | Tuesday, 2 July 2013 | Views [552]

We got up early at 5.30 and went for a walk along the river to the market in Hoi An town. Its a nice quiet walk as there is only local traffic and no cars on the river track. Wondered around and bought tomato and cucumber and bread roll so we can make our lunch. Mr Dong came on duty at 7.00am and he was happy to see us. Had breakie when we got back which is probably the best  of all the hotels as you can have anything. We had boiled and fried eggs, mango and pineapple juice, fruit platter, bread roll, tea and coffee. Today was beach day. We headed off on the m/bikes to An Bang beach. Kevin still getting used to riding them all over again. We parked our bike with the lady we used last year as she has face deformity. We set up in Soul Kitchen on a lounge and stayed there for 4 hours. We would wonder down to the sea for a dip and the water was so cool or just walk along the beach to see what is happening further along. It has been quite hot here 35C and no wind so it is quite sticky. First time in the water Kevin didnt even go past his waist. We ordered coke in the bottle which Kevin says tastes much better than a can or plastic bottle. Headed back to hotel at 1pm and later in avo went to Phoung tailor and Kevin ordered some shorts and a short sleeve shirt. I was looking at the material for a dress but Kevin was a little impatient. We left and wondered around the streets for half an hour. It was dinner with the family and other guest tonight for 6 guests. We met John and Anne from Port Macquarie, international teachers that are now living in Hong Kong and have been for the past 8 years. We also met Jackey from Los Angeles who is also a teacher but had previously worked in law enforcement as a crime scene analyst. Also a Phillip from Sydney who was here on a conference in management. He was a little full of himself. Ms Hien cooked the meal and it was the best we have had at Betel Garden. She had asked me through the day what we ate and didn't and she catered for us very well.
