My Scholarship entry - Salvation Mountain

I'm an aspiring Canadian photographer. I'm also late to the party. You see, I played rock and roll through my 20s and 30s and although I always had a camera around it wasn't until about 8 years ago that I really started to find my passion for it. Since then I've been absorbing online tutorials, youtube videos, attended workshops and have been a part of Meet-Up groups in two cities. Coinciding with all this is my love for travel. The more I do of both photography and travel, the more I NEED to do. As I work my day job as a web and graphic designer I'm constantly thinking and dreaming of a day when I can travel and explore and capture places and moments with my camera. It is all I really think about. I can't even stay working in the same place for too long as I need a change of scenery. I have no dependent responsibilities, no attachments. I relinquished most of my possesions before going on two extended road trips, one across Canada, one in the Southwest US. I was made to be a traveling photographer and one day, I will be, full time.
