New Trades

COSTA RICA | Monday, 11 October 2010 | Views [312] | Comments [1]

With so many people away for the weekend – it seemed a good idea to tile the porch that serves as a hangout for the large group. While at Finca Quijote I learned how to install barbed wire fencing, compost humanure, prepare compost tea and some new baking recipes, today I learned how tile a floor. I am continuously impressed when people younger than me have incredible trade-based knowledge, and I learned all I know about tiling from 23-year old Mike. For two days we cemented, tiled and grouted with the help of Erica and Emily. Today, when I take my first day off, Mike and the girls are finishing up the project before a short run and adventure down the “dangerous cliff”!
