NO, WE’RE NOT IN KANSAS, TOTO, BUT IOWA isn’t that much different. It’s so flat here that it doesn’t take a lot of snow to make a blizzard. Just wind, and Bella (When exactly did they start naming winter storms?) blew in with plenty of gusto, an overnight storm that left Iowa covered with eight inches of snow and 60 cars and semis that we counted stranded along I-80.
Flat as a table
We were on our way home after visiting family — Connie’s family — in Nebraska and Michigan when we holed up in Iowa City until Bella moved on towards Chicago. We can report that all brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and Mom are accounted for and much the same as we left them. John’s family will have to wait, probably for quite a while.
