WHERE TO START? We have been home for three weeks now. Well, not exactly “home” — but in the USA at least. We still feel like strangers in a strange land. We are still surprised that overheard conversations are in English. Places we used to know well are not as we remember them and we would be lost without our new GPS, Gabby. There seem to be more people in more cars, speeding from here to there and an equal number rushing from there to here. America appears not only to be a land of plenty but a land of too much. Or maybe I’m just getting old.

Lynn and Hector Everlee — grandkid for rent
We have been staying with friends for as long as they will have us and shamelessly attaching ourselves to their cats, dogs and, yes, to their children. Little Everlee, 2-year old daughter of Zack and Deanne, makes me understand how attached our friends have become to their grandkids.
DMV goddesses
We have accomplished two and a half of our chores — we bought a new ’15 Ford F150, put a deposit on a 2016 fifth wheel camping trailer, and changed our “domicile” state to South Dakota. No state income tax, low auto insurance rates, mail forwarding services for full-time RVers and only a single night stay for residency. Colorado will always be our home even though our driver’s licenses say South Dakota. We couldn't have done it without Terry from "mydakotaaddress" and the two goddesses at the DMV in Sioux Falls.
