Sunday I spent the day on the
Mekong Delta. It was about a two-hour bus ride south of Ho Chi Minh City to My
Tho, and then we crossed the Mekong River on a boat to the little islands (Ben
Tre and Unicorn Island). We got to
see how they made coconut candy and coconut oil. We also got to sample fresh
honey tea and snake wine. Then we
had a short rowboat ride through part of the Mekong Delta. However, there were
so many tourists they were just pushing us thru. It almost seemed like
Disneyworld ride in Epcot where you wait for an hour or two going thru gift
shops while you wait in line for a 10-minute boat ride. It was nice to see but could have been alot nicer.
