Saying good-bye to Daniel, Wendy, Trinis in Xela
It was time to bid Xela "adios" and begin my transition back to the states with my daughter. We decided to make Antigua our final port of call. Trinis and Daniel were so very kind to save us the hot, hour long walk across town to the Minerva Terminal and drove us instead. We found the first chicken bus ready to go. I handed my big, heavy mountain backpack to the ayudante and climbed aboard for what was expected to be another harrowing bus trip to Chimaltenango. It was.
