Traveled to the Island of Koh Phangan today on the Lomprayah ferry. We will be staying at the Harmony Beach resort. As usual upon arrival they had no idea we were coming even know we book online 3 days prior.. After a short wait they scrambled together a room for us. It was another nice room practically on the beach. We had dinner at the relaxed lounge and enjoyed the evening and piece and quite. The next morning we had arraigned to go to the Ang Thong Nation Park on a speed boat for Kayaking and snorkelling but after 45 minute wait for the Taxi that never arrived we rented a scooter and explored the island and beaches. We would try again to get to the park tomorrow.. This time the resort booked the tour and made the arraignments for the taxi.. The next morning we awoke early to get to the top of the hill and again waited 50 minutes and no taxi.. So we decided that a scooter was the only way we would get to the dock and would just drive ourselves.. We again arraigned the tour and drove to town to meet the boat.. Success we got on the boat.. And of course we had been told that it would be no more than 10 people and at lease 30 showed.. We all pilled in and luckily it was a large speed boat and off we went.. We first stopped for some snorkelling. Not the clearest water but was nice to see anyway.. We then headed for lunch on a private beach and looked forward to the Kayaking after lunch.. As we rounded the corner where we would do the Kayaking they informed us that NO Kayaking today as it was to windy in there opinion.. We were very disappointed but not surprised.. Over all the Park was not that spectacular but a change of scenery. At the end of the day we jumped back on the scooter and I went and completed to the tour company to get a refund.. Amazingly enough they did give me a partial refund.. We had one more day on Koh Phangan and spent it at the resort where there was a free kayak that I took out just to say I went Kayaking even know there wasn’t anything to see.. We didn’t like Koh Phangan as much as Koh Tao as it was just bigger more touristy with crazy parties at least once a week. Just seemed more chaotic and dirty to us. We left on the Ferry and where headed to Krabi on the West cost by bus.. As usual you start on a ferry transfer to a tour bus then into a pickup (Taxi) and finally then into the bus to Krabi.. (8 hours travel time)… We would stay at a nice little place called Chan Cha La. Holly was excited as we had a west style flush toilet for the first time in Thailand and even an open air shower.. The next day would take us to the ferry dock where we would travel to Koh Phi Phi said to be heaven on earth or as close as you can get..
