We tried to hold on for the 5 days, but on day 2 our bowls overcame our will. There were 4 toilets among the 200 passengers. These cubicles also doubled as showers, with brown Amazon water gushing from the showerhead positioned over the bowl. We both perfected the art of the simultaneous shizen and shower, and found the toilet/shower combo to be quite a practical concept.

One of the many villages we stopped at along the way to pick up cargo. In this case, it was a crate of fish. Among this crate of fish, the boat was carrying an enormous amount of cargo including a tractor, bananas, and Coca-Cola. During the night the Captain would regularly fire bullets from his shotgun into the water. This was to scare off any Amazon pirates from hijacking the boat. Thankfully his technique worked.
