Off We Go

So the day has finally arrived.  While we have been travelling for about 3 months now the true test starts today.  The bags are packed and we leave for the airport in about 2 hours.  Our first stop Fiji.  we have spent the last couple days trying to get a hold of someone on that side of the world to book a place to stay but after many frustrations we have decided to just show up and wing it.  Each leg has its own special beauty and my goal for Fiji is to spend the 3 days we have there slowing down my pace of life and getting into the right mindset for future travelling.  I am bringing my hammock and expect it to get a lot of use.  Thanks to everyone who has supported us with kind thoughts, a couch to sleep on, or financial support.  We love you all and hope you are doing well.  We hope to be posting atleast once a week but you never know.  We miss you all and look forward to seeiong you all very soon.  JN

Vaya con dios, mis amigos! (And you thought I was kidding when I said I was checking this every day. Hell no, I'm living vicariously through you for the next year. Is that weird? Perhaps.)

Sounds wonderful. You will no doubt land in Nadi (pronounced Nandee). We loved Fiji for the 3 days we were there. I'm sure you guys are not going the "Resort" route, but we stayed at the Hideway Resort in the Coral Sands area. It is about 90 minutes from Nadi. It was wonderful, with a beautiful pool and water slide. Remember to greet everyone with a hearty "Bula" -- the Fijian equivalent of Aloha. Have a wonderful time and we'll be checking the blog frequently. Love to both of you. Gpa & Gma
