Glen after a fun day of sand boarding

Glen after a fun day of sand boarding

Stayed in the middle of the desert (literally) in a small oasis called Huacachina near Ica (still heading south). Crashed here for 3 days, just cruising, playing with the local wildlife (okay maybe not so local but the monkey lives in the hostel with 2 tortises) (which I still want).

Th oasis is surrounded by HUGE sanddunes that finish right at the edge of the homes. We walked up them most nights for sunset which was pretty impressive exercise.

Mostly we just cruised around or in the pool until the last day when Glen decided to try his hand at sand boarding. It’s hard work because you have to get yourself up the dune to start with, he had a blast – got sand in every nook and cranny. I gave toboggening a go – which was great until towards the bottom of the dune when I realised I didn’t have brakes – Glen managed to capture a impressive stack on movie.
