Khao Sok

THAILAND | Thursday, 25 January 2007 | Views [2033]

A few days ago we left for Phang Nga and when we arrived it wasn't what we expected so we got an incredible inexpensive room and walked through the town. Phang Nga caters more to the tourist, but not one that speaks or reads English. And the tours weren't really enticing enough to do so instead we got a full body Thai massage! It was excellent for both of us but painful for Danielle. The nest day we took a bus to Khao Sok so we could visit the Khoa Sok national forest. We have found a little piece of paradise. We are staying in a "tree house" in the jungle. We have seen frogs, snake, huge spider, and all kinds of bugs and tad poles.

This morning we took our malaria pills and Danielle took hers with just a gulp of water, 'cause thats all we had. Never never do this! If you burp and are breathing through your nose, it will send all the powder contained in the pill into your sinuses. And thats exactly what happened. It through her into a frenzy. She had to snort water without sending it down her windpipe. It went on for the rest of the day but seriously for about 4 hours. She is doing better now.

After she recovered enough to get food, we walked for about 3-4 hours through the jungle. Elijah captured some sweet footage with the camera. The hike ended at small, but beautiful sip-et (11) waterfall. It was wonderfully refreshing as we swam in a little cove with some fish and tad poles. The way home was extremely wearisome, Elijah twisted his ankle but not horribly, and we got lost for about 15 mins which was scary. When we reached the begining of the park, we were both exhausted so we stopped for one of the best smoothies in Thailand. These young girls have their own stop where one can purchase this drink for 15 baht.

Some of the pics you may have to look hard for what it is of. There's one of a two frogs, and one of Elijah hiding behind a bush nestled beside the roots of a tree. Yes ladies and gentleman, that huge thing behind him is the base of a tree. We felt like we were going to see some dinosaurs.

Anyway, life here is probably our favourite so far, but the internet is double so it may be a while before we can post more, thanks for your patience and prayers, The Lord is soooo good!

LOVE you all,

E&D

PS, dad take a look at that scaffolding! We thought sometimes we worked dangerously.
