Pictures and Stories from our Time in Thailand

Mid year already!

Well it’s probably time for an update. May flew by and its mid June already. Not too sure where all the time has gone this year. Mike has been home for the last few weeks which has been great. We have been spending a bit of time in Bangkok just hanging out and taking Thai class. Two lessons a week, two hours each. We are dedicated.  Mike and I just had a great weekend away to a town called Hua Hin. It’s just a few hours west of Bangkok and we headed down after work Friday for the annual Jazz Festival on the beach there. It was really nice to hang at the beach with some cool music and lots of people. In typical Thai style it was all a little weird. But we managed to sneak in a few massages, some good food and practice what we are learning in our Thai classes. We are pretty good now, and Mike is great at listening and understanding people. It certainly helps to know a little bit of Thai! Some friends of ours here are getting married the first weekend in July in the north of the country in city called Chang Mai. They are English and Australian but are having a traditional Thai costume themed wedding. It should be rather luxurious. Its in a 5 star hotel, where all the guests stay together. They are going to have fireworks, elephants, Thai dancers and goodness knows what else! The guests all so have to wear Thai costumes. It should be lots of fun and it will be my first trip to Chang Mai so looking really forward to it.  Work is good. I have been giving lots of presentations recently to customers. I’m not the best public speaker but I struggle through!! They have been in some parts of Thailand I haven’t been to before, which is great. As I mentioned Mike has been home for a while and I don’t think he is away again until the end of the month. So we have just been hanging out here and spending time with the people that we have met here.  We are trying to find a couch to buy for the house, to replace the current park bench that we have! We haven’t had to buy furniture before so it’s keeping us entertained anyway! I’m not sure if we ever will get one, but we are always talking about it!! Still no visitors booked up here in the next few months. Mike’s birthday in Malaysia is coming along nicely. We have 26 people confirmed already and have started booking hotels and activities. It should be a great trip and will be no doubt be here in no time.  Well that’s about it. I cant think of anything else that’s happening! I hope your all well.  Tara-Lee xx
