While transiting the Straits of Mallaca, our ship passed the Queen Elizabeth 2, the grande dame of cruise ships on one of her round-the-world voyages. It was really impressive to see her up close, though the sight was obscured a bit by all the haze from the forest fires on shore.
It's really tragic the way that forest fires and clear-cutting are used to clear the rain forest for timber or agriculture. It's literally cutting the lungs out of the planet!
