March 23 - March 31
23 - Fly in, hit "sunshines" the beach side bar and grill in Nevis
24 - Australia v South Africa in St kitts - one of the greatest days of my life! Cricket in the sun, eating goat stew, drinking coconut rum, watching Aussies smash 380. The ground is small, just like Punt rd oval. The party stand was going off with all the Saffers and Aussies going toe to toe. It was about 32 degrees so a number of drinks were consumed to quench the thirst.
25 - Quintessential beach cricket, beautiful beach then back to sunshines for another beach party (Nevis)
26 - walk around town, the beach plus boring stuff
27 - AFD, Snorkelling at turtle bay
28 - Hike up mount Nevis, mudslinging, we came back looking like mud wrestlers, but awesome and worth every minute, finished off with a lobster dinner
29 - tour of St Kitts, went to the old sugar plantation and botanical gardens, and past the fort. Back to Nevis for punch night at home. Hamish left his passport in Nevis and had to charter a boat to bring it to St Kitts where he was staying before his early flight. What a Tool! He copped plenty for that
This place is facinating. Everything runs on "island time", no one seems to care about anything, goats and chickens wander the streets freely and everyone always has a "carib" in there hand (local beer). The scenery is outstanding, you cant help but relax. Our house with 10 ppl is great, very layed back, everyone is getting along well. The food is disapointing, no fresh markets full of seafood. Mostly frozen american style food - fatty and packaged unless you want to pay top dollar at the restaurants
