Hope you are havin a happy halloween, not a big holiday here, in fact I have seen nothing to indicate they even know about it! I did however just recieve "Panellets" delivered to me for All`Saints day" which all us catholics know is Nov 1st,(which I thought was tomorrow, so I am not sure if I am a day off or what is going on! )

ok Panellets are a typical catalan pastry served at this time of year dating back to 7th century when someone passed away everyone would gather at church and eat these, now they give them out and eat them on all saints day in memory of the dead...Catalan lesson 1.  This history was written up and tied on them with a ribbon with 4 `yummy little pastries that melt in your mouth..I love spain

Arrived in lovely Barcelona Spain this am at 8:24 took the metro and walked the city for a few hours, it is beautiful!!! Lovely old buildings and gorgeous square, lots of delicious shopping and outdoor cafe's and pastry shops, gorgeous spanish men in suits, I could barely speak to the information guy, I was starring at him and left not having a clue what he had said, his eyes were crazy enchanting.....ok

Checked to Hotel Regina 1 block off Placa de Catalunya, city hub.  It was quite expensive and very Boutique for a Best Western chain...but I was exhausted and thrilled to find a gorgeous room with 800 thread count sheets, down pillows and comforters and a GORGEOUS big private bathroom with glass shower and robes and slippers etc, so worth what I paid when I crawled in bed for my siesta, I woke up to my paneletts being delivered and have no idea what time it is,did panic for a minute thinking I had slept like 24 hours for my nap, still not sure, don't really care.

got a recommendation for dinner tonight and am excited for some Catalan cooking and seafood.  Sat with a cute couple at breakfast on the train from London, they said Spain has become overrun with British second homes and people just moving here, I see why, great weather and gorgeous metropolitan city.

off to enjoy my shower...adios...it has been so hard to get the language thing, knowing bits and pieces of all and remembering what country I am in...just got my french on and woke up to spanish..dumb american

Oh Had my first pick pocket attempt..on the metro some little tiny spanish man almost lost his hand..moving out of train and he had his hand in my purse, he got scratched I got skin under my nails...

Adios!!
