A far off place

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

At the very edge of Europe the Outer Hebrides are a beautiful composition of rock, sand and moorlands that has been braving storms and winds for thousands of years and with it its inhabitants. Visiting the Callanish Standing Stones on a cold morning in January, the frozen ground crackling under each and every step, they evoke a feeling of curiosity for the isles early settlers and their mysterious culture.
