Experience a Tuk-tuk Ride

GUATEMALA | Sunday, 10 August 2008 | Views [922] | Comments [6]

OK, the video isn´t so great, but you can see why Jarrett´s daily request is to have another tuk-tuk ride. It´s a 3-wheeled covered motorcycle that can carry 3-4 people.

Your mail was in my Junk folder for a few days so didn't discover it until recently. Just got caught up - looks like a GREAT trip so far! I love reading travel stories and international ones are especially energizing so keep up the posts!

I assume you're using the motion picture function of your new Panasonic Lumix still camera, right? We're enjoying both the still shots and the movies - keep 'em coming! I hope the kids are keeping up with their journals - they won't regret it!

Thanks so much for keeping us in the loop. I love hearing about your travels and seeing you in action. All is well here. Mark and Tev left for the Grand Canyon today and will be back in 10 days. It feels quiet around here with the Dubois and Arakaki's. I hope you continue to have great travels.

Wow! I'm loving your travelogue!!
Your bunnies are doing fine, and though I'm sure they miss you they haven't complained...I won't tell them they're missing out on tuk-tuk rides ;)

As to the video camera questions, yes, I'm using a new Lumix DMC-TZ5 digital still camera. While it also has 16:9 HD video capability, for these YouTube web videos, the low resolution videos that most digital still cameras take is more than adequate. To keep upload times reasonable, I shot all of the videos for this journal at 4:3 and at the camera's lowest resolution, QVGA. And yes, there are internet cafes in every city we've stayed in.
