Living the Dream

Getting into it

Day 2 already and more unpacking to do and I want to take a walk down the mountain to meet Gobey for lunch and go to the shop. There is 1 food store, department store, hair dressers, post office, chemist, cafe and 2 banks. That’s your lot. Anything you can’t find here – TUFF.

What a shock to the legs I got once I started. From the apartment to Tembagapura it’s just over 2 miles on a 45degree angle.  It took me 45 minutes to walk down. But when I got there Gobey was waiting for me with a little surprise. Gobey had minor surgery. 2 days in the job and already being sliced and stitched back together again.

So poor Gobey has had a mole removed from his left peck. He asked the doctor to have look at it after he cracked 2 ribs while surfing in Holland. Only Gobey!!!  So anyway the doctor didn’t like the look of the mole and within 10minutes of looking it was off and stitched back up. To say the least it tickles me that Gobey has had surgery. But with his scar on the left it matches my scar on the right in bed. We are like twins LOL.

After lunch I decide to try and get some shopping from the store, food and utensils. So I spend the next 2 hours walking round looking for things.(it’s not like Tesco) Trying to stock cupboards somewhere new when you have everything you need in your own cupboard back home can get any more annoying,  but after 2 hours I have half a trolley with not very much in it. Tea tonight will be very simple – noodles.  So on the bus to head home.

By the time Gobey came home I have finally finished unpacking and to be fair the apartment is looking ok. Still not got many ‘homely things’ up but hey we are only at day 2.
