My goal in life is to shoot for National Geographic. Nat Geo's mission coincides with my own and an opportunity like this would fulfill a lifelong dream. Specifically, I hope to have the opportunity to work with Jason in Oman due to the prospect of capturing compelling images as well as learning from someone who does what I aspire to do. I am not the greatest photographer yet but I have an immense adoration for the power it has to showcase people, locations, feelings, and moments. The ability to share these scenarios with others is incredible. I also love learning. The more knowledge I can gain the better, especially if it is photographic knowledge. I spend my downtime learning more about photography, whether it’s through watching videos, reading books, or taking classes. I can’t get enough. I also love the fact that no matter how long you have been shooting, there is always room for improvement. I hope that through this scholarship, I will develop the skills and eyes necessary to be a professional. While I understand photographic theory, shooting in remote, unfamiliar, and diverse situations is an entirely different learning experience.
