    Morning on Rialto Beach

    View out from Rialto Beach over the Pacific Ocean toward some islands off the coast of Washington State. by: mhitchner Views[118] Dawn on Rialto Beach. As the sun kisses the top of the waves the mainland remains shrouded in early morning shadow. Hints of blue sky quickly dissipate as clouds roll in from offshore. A shelter is visible providing some relief from the wind and rain later that day. by: mhitchner Views[296] A sea stack on Rialto Beach. A tree grows on top unfettered by the pounding waves, but battered by wind and without much nutrients. Gulls and other seabirds make their nests atop these stacks. by: mhitchner Views[373] A couple walk along Rialto Beach early in the morning on a cold fall day. Fog obscures the distant land and sea. by: mhitchner Views[384] It is quite amazing what time, wind, and water are able to create. This place is known as 'Hole in the wall' and is a 1 mile hike down Rialto Beach on the Pacific Coast of Washington State. At low tide it is possible to walk through it but at high tide it is pounded by waves. by: mhitchner Views[132]
