Not all who wander are lost. I'm letting the world change me... so I can change the world.

I've been in Belize for almost a week! It seems so much longer. I haven't had too much of a culture shock. Its hot - but it was hot back home. The food is similar, the lanuage is english and there is Dish TV. How bad can it be if I can watch Man vs. Wild and Showtime?

Our host family is great. An older couple, they have bent over backwards to make Alexis and I feel welcome and comfortable. This house is small, but very cozy and homey, Lex and I have been shareing a room and our bags take up most of our free space.

We visited the Belize Zoo and the Mayan ruins of Atun Ha on Tuesday. "the best little zoo in the world" has a great collection of all of Belize's animals from the national bird the Toucan, to the Tapier (this weird little thing, that looks like a cross between and elephant, ant eater and a cow) Jr, the newest member of the zoo, a 5 month year old baby Jaguar was out chasing butterflys in his cage.

Sunday we are going cave tubing on the river and visiting the Blue Hole (check it out on the web, its awsome!)Work starts next week with programs in Belize CIty and later in the week on to the Capital, Belmopan.  I'm excited to start working, Lex and I have been hanging around the house, helping out when we can - plus watching TV and napping (much like my old life as a college student)

Peace,

megan
