My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I love meeting people, listening to their stories, and my camera around my neck allows me to engage people that I would never have otherwise. I love when a smile or a frown, a movement or a gesture is captured. Photographing is my outlet. It can take up an afternoon, a weekend, a month, or years to tell a story, and that story will continue to live to remind us of those moments.

With Jason’s experience and guidance I believe that this scholarship is going to help me refine my skills with photography and how to approach a subject in general and with travel photography in particular.

The series of photographs were taken in an afternoon on the Potomac River where people were trying to keep entertained on the short boat ride from Alexandria.
