On the way from the town up the hill towards the stadium. An exciting and festive pilgrimage. Actually, I don't remember walking there; more swept along by the atmosphere and good wishes by the locals.

German locals showing their support for Australia. This sight was more the norm than the exception. We felt that the whole town of Kaiserslautern was behind the Socceroos, and many friendships and much respect between the two nations were formed on that day by Aussies and locals alike.
