We literally had to resort to telling these magpies "our wallets have been stolen" and they only pitied us because we had nothing that interested them anymore!

... and then it was down to the real Lefkara business - giving in to the local lace craftspeople. Or rather, the crafty lace people, cos they knew how to get those 50 EUR notes out of our wallets by pure hypnosis.
